Baby’s First Stocking

Baby's First Christmas Stocking hanging on the hearth

Baby’s First Stocking

If your little one is celebrating their first Christmas this year, you're obviously in pursuit to make it the most magical experience of their young life. One important component in that is your baby's first stocking. Perhaps you want a hand-knitted one. Perhaps you want their name embroidered on it. Perhaps you want one that's simple and small. There is no right answer — it's what YOU want for your child. In that spirit, we have selected a variety of Christmas stockings to celebrate Baby's first Christmas to help you find the perfect option for your little one.

What to Put in Baby's First Stocking

First things first. Before you purchase your stocking, think about the things you'll put in it. If you plan to only put a few small toys inside it, then you won't need a gigantic stocking — you'll want something on the smaller side. On the other hand, if you plan to put tons of fun things for Baby to discover, you'll want to make sure you have a Christmas stocking large enough to accommodate all of the goodies.

With that in mind, here are a few stocking stuffer ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

  • Pacifiers/pacifier clip
  • Sippy cups
  • Onesies
  • Baby socks
  • Lovie
  • Snack cups
  • Bibs
  • Teething bracelet or necklace
  • Rattle
  • Carseat toy
  • Baby spoons/forks
  • Snacks
  • Baby books
  • Bath toys
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste
  • Brush
  • Bows/clips
  • Hat/cap

Now that you know what you'll be putting in your Baby's first stocking, let's talk about the stocking itself. If Granny knits your little bundle of joy a stocking, you're all set. But if not, here are some adorable stockings available to buy — at a variety of sizes and price points. Take a look!
